Way, way, down, beneath the bay...
Based on a series of popular Greek children’s books, Fish Soup is an original children’s show that we developed from the ground up. Working closely with a group of international creatives, our in house team designed a colorful world and cast of characters with a story that would not only entertain but educate children with lessons in learning Greek.
We did extensive design development for the cast of characters. Our main character Jin especially went through a variety of looks until we landed on his final design.
During development we experimented with a possible multi-media style, using a real Jin puppet and animating the parts in After Effects.
Ultimately though we went with the all 2D design aesthetic, giving our backgrounds a richly colorful look and adding a bit of texture to our Flash characters to help them fit into the environments.
